So often, we live out our days in routine and disconnection. We forget to give of ourselves in service of others. We forget just how much a simple kindness can impact a life. We forget that Christ has called us to LOVE one another as he has loved us.
God has called us to do good unto others and love our neighbor as our ourselves.
Sometimes it's hard to wrap our minds around that concept. Loving others isn't always so easy for us. But Christ has laid it all out for us. He has shown us exactly how to love and serve others for his purpose. And in those instructions, he says that Love is Kind.
The purpose of this project is forward that love unto others. To drop a bit of kindness in their laps that will begin as a mustard seed of light and joy in their day and blossom into a fruit-bearing tree of love.
So, as this project launches out into the bloggosphere, Lucy and I invite you to help us spread the love. Help us bring a little joy and kindness into the lives of others.
On the second Friday of every month, we invite you to link up your posts that highlight an Act of Kindness. Each month, the "theme" will change, but the purpose remains...love your neighbor.
This month we are linking up our posts that share our experiences in bestowing a Random Act of Kindness to a Stranger. Try to remain anonymous if you can. Your kindness can be just about anything you can dream up, big or little, far reaching or right around the corner. You might send them a little Jesus Injection, or help them reach the box on the top shelf at the grocery store. Perhaps you'll leave a kind little note on someone's windshield, or send an anonymous gift to someone you've never met. Whatever you decide to do, the love you spread is sure to become infectious.
Today is the day to link up your posts!
What have you been doing to spread the love?

My Act of Kindness was not actually so random.
It was definitely intentional on my part...
and something that I've been wanting to do
for a while now. It is part of my 30 before 30.
I have got to say, that after my mission had been completed,
I started wondering why I'd never done it before.
It was so fantastic.
Yesterday on my daughter's 12th birthday, the girls and I got into the truck
and headed off to Wendy's. There was sure to be plenty of people in the
drive-thru at noon on a weekday. Man, was I ever right?! There were tons
of people lining up for the
gross super yummy fast food goodness.
As soon as we pulled into line, a car with two ladies and a toddler pulled
up behind us. Score! I pretended to take photos of Riley while snapping
pics of the unsuspecting hungry people in the car behind me.
As we pulled up to the talky box thingy, the girls were squealing. They
were so excited that we were doing this. I ordered some goodies for us,
since it was lunch time, and pulled up toward the "first window, please."
I am so the stealth paparazzi pro. This was so thrilling, so warm
and fuzzy and SNEAKY! I love it. It took a minute for my
strangers to pull up around behind me, but when they did, I was ready!
(I promise, the dirty-looking stuff you see in the photo
above is not my filthy truck-which actually is filthy-what
you see is the "Hagrid" filter with "Scratches" detail via my
Pixlomatic app on my phone. Ha!)
Now...when I got up to the window, I paid for my stuff.
Then I asked the attendant if I could pay for the people
behind me. If nothing else, the look on her face when I
offered this was worth it all. Her happy-surprised-touched
face was beautiful and warmed my heart. After I paid for
my hungry strangers' food, I thought AGAIN!
So I asked if I could pay for the next car's food also.
The attendant gave me the look again. Yaya!
Then, money exchanged, I pulled forward and
received my food.
I didn't get to see how the two unsuspecting cars reacted to
their surprise. But I can only imagine that they were pleasantly
surprised and hope it brought a smile to their faces. I know I
was smiling from ear to ear. And so were my girls.
Back at home, I pulled out my
I totally ate a frosty and fries for lunch. What?
So that's my act of kindness this month.
