monday meet up: linky party!

by

It's time for another Monday Meet Up!
This week I have an amazing writer and beautiful woman
to share with you all. Every time I read something at her
blog I am touched and moved. She has a beautiful way
with words and expresses such a deep love for our Lord.
It's my pleasure to have her here this week.

Hi there, Covered In Grace readers!!

My name is Danielle and I blog over at Healing the Heaviness. My blog is mainly about my weight loss journey and my family's journey to a more simple life.

I can't tell you how excited I am to be here today! I am a big fan of Brooke, her blog, and her shop! She has really been a BIG encouragement to me as a blogger. I am super grateful for this opportunity today!

I really just wanted to share something that's been on my heart lately.

As I was reading in a book the other day, I read one of the best quotes I've ever heard in my life. It was this: "You are either discontent or content. Which tent are you in?"

As of yesterday, I was definitely in the discontented life. Constantly wanting more. Thinking that more stuff or more of something would make me happy.

I am your typical "grass is greener" type of person. I come by it honestly, though. It's sort of how I was raised. I just got trapped into this way of thinking that if I just had "this" I could accomplish "that". Or, if "this" just happened in my life, then "that" would work out.

But, is this really the life that God has called me to? A life of constantly wanting more? Constantly searching for something to "help" or "make things right"?

I don't think so.
I believe God wants me to be contented as a Christian. After all, doesn't the Bible say that "my God shall supply ALL of your need"? Of course! God wants his children to be happy in the Lord! And not only happy in Jesus, but happy with what He's GIVEN us and BLESSED us with.

Think about it, if I am discontented with what I have, then why would I bother taking care of it? After all, if I'm looking for something more than what I have, what I have really isn't worth my time....right?

WRONG!
What I have been blessed with is MORE that what I deserve! The problem isn't with the things I own, the problem is with ME. Jesus has called His children to more. He has called us to live a life of contentment. He wants to give us what we need and desire. But if we aren't happy with what He's given us so far, then why would He want to give us more?

It's really just a simple thought for today.
If you're a Christian, than God wants you to be happy in Jesus and content. If you're not a Christian, just know that He loves you and you CAN have a life of contentment! Contact me for more information about knowing Jesus! 🙂

Remember, we may not always HAVE the best of everything, but we can always MAKE the best of everything we have.

So, today my question for you is....Which Tent Are YOU In?

Thank you so much for being with us today Danielle!
What a wonderful reminder for us all.

Great message about contentment! i come from a VERY negative family. it has taken me many years (and battles) to be content with my life. I’m not perfect at it but much better than I used to be! thanks for sharing!
